George was born in 1874 in Scales, Aldingham, Lancashire.  George's father was William Jackson and his mother was Sarah Maria Sharp.  His paternal grandparents were George JACKSON and Agnes Holme. He had a sister named Agnes.  He was the younger of the two children.
