Jean was born on September 15th, 1800 in MAUCHLINE Ayrshire Scotland.  Jean's father was William Ness and her mother was Agnes Sillars. She had two brothers and three sisters, named William, Jane, Sara, Christian and Agnes.  She was the fourth oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 59 on December 14th, 1859 in Croft Inn, Dreghorn, Ayr.
