Margaret was born in 1858 in Liverpool, England.  Margaret's father was Henry Davies and her mother was Frances.  Her paternal grandparents were Edward Davies and Sarah Evans. She had a brother and two sisters, named Henry, Frances and Mary.  She was the third oldest of the four children.
