Adam McVie

Adam was born about 1840 in Tarbolton, Ayrshire. Adam's father was John McVie and his mother was Jean Ness. His paternal grandparents were Samuel McVie and Jean McFadzean; his maternal grandparents were William Ness and Agnes Sillars. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, William, John, Thomas, Alexander, David, James, Agnes, Jean and Christina. He was the seventh oldest of the eleven children.
