Alexander McVie

Alexander was born on August 22nd, 1841 in Dundonald, Ayrshire. Alexander's father was John McVie and his mother was Jean Ness. His paternal grandparents were Samuel McVie and Jean McFadzean; his maternal grandparents were William Ness and Agnes Sillars. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, William, John, Thomas, Adam, David, James, Agnes, Jean and Christina. He was the eighth oldest of the eleven children.
