William Ness

William was born on May 30th, 1817 in Monkton and Prestwick Parish. William's father was John Ness and his mother was Agnes Bell Thomson. His paternal grandparents were William Ness and Agnes Sillars; his maternal grandparents were David Thomson and Margaret McHoul. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Margaret, John, George, James, David, Agnes, Ann Paterson, Sarah, Jane and Mary. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 61 on February 5th, 1879 in Gatehead, Kilmaurs, Ayr.
